ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, seeking a direction to direct the Respondent Police from harassing the Petitioner and their staff, in any manner whatsoever, except in accordance with the due process of law.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents submitted that the petitioner is the accused and has alleged the sale of nicotine and two packets of 'Hans'. For the purpose of verification, the respondent police conducted an enquiry to ascertain the involvement of the petitioner. Since the petitioner is a college student, the enquiry was also conducted to determine whether he continues to indulge in any offence as alleged in the complaint.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents 1 and 2 and perused the materials available on record.
4. Considering the above submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents 1 and 2 and upon perusal of the materials available on record, it seen that the petitioner is a college student and for the purpose of verification, the respondent police conducted an enquiry to ascertain the involvement of the
petitioner as alleged in the complaint. Such action cannot be construed as harassment. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 20-04-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order jd To
