Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to issue patta in pursuance to petitioner's representation dated 17.8.2020 and 9.12.2020 with respect to the petitioner's property situated at No.211, Rajaveedhi, Walajabad, Kancheepuram District comprised in Survey No.529/15 (Old Survey No.90/70) measuring an extent about 5400 sqft. ORDER

The writ petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking a direction in the nature of writ of mandamus to examine the petitioner's representation dated 17.8.2020 and 9.12.2020, particularly to the third respondent, Tahsildar, Walajabad, Kancheepuram District in relation to grant of patta for the petitioner's property situated at No.211, Rajaveedhi, Walajabad, Kancheepuram District comprised in S.No.529/15 (Old Survey No.90/70) measuring an extent of about 5400 sqft. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. It is the contention of the writ petitioner that the property is a Government natham land meant for usage of the villagers for their residences. It is further stated that the petitioner's father had started residing in the said property about 40 years ago and after the death of his father, he is residing in the property, but, neither the father nor the writ petitioner had obtained patta and he had given a representation on 9.12.2020 seeking patta.

3. A fresh representation, enclosing a copies of the earlier representations may be given to the third respondent/Tahsildar, Walajabad, Kancheepuram District and the said official may enquire the petition, examine the records and pass considered orders on the representation either granting patta or if he declines, stating reasons thereof. At any rate, this exercise should be completed within 12 weeks from the date of receipt of the representation.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
