Heard both sides.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner prays for a direction forthwith to issue provisional certificate bearing Registration No.11027004 for B.A.(History). According to the learned counsel, the petitioner has completed B.A.(History) at Salem Arts College during the academic year 1991-1992 and completed all the papers only during May 2012. Though, he applied for provisional certificate the same has not been issued till date. Aggrieved against the inaction on the part of the respondent, the petitioner filed the present writ petition before this Court. 3.Mrs.Thilagavathi, learned standing counsel for the respondent/University submitted that the petitioner had appeared for the I-year examination in April 1992, II-year in March 1993 and III-year in April 1994, but he passed only one subject in April 1992.

After a long break, the petitioner applied for examinations held November 2008, November 2009, April 2010, November 2010, April 2011 and April 2012 under equivalent subjects. The learned counsel further submits that if the petitioner produces all the original statement of marks in which he claims to have passed all the papers, the University would consider in granting provisional certificate in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.

favour of the petitioner, provided the petitioner having passed all the subjects.

4.Under such circumstances, the petitioner is hereby directed to produce all the original statement of marks to the University as expeditiously as possible. On receipt of the same, the University is directed to take effective steps to issue provisional certificate to the petitioner, subject to the petitioner having passed all the subjects.

5.With the above observation, the writ petition is closed. The University is directed to complete the above said exercise within a period of three months from the date of receipt of production of statement of marks by the petitioner.
