ORDER

Mr.G.Janakiraman, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the main writ petitions are taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioners have filed the above writ petition to issue writ of mandamus directing the respondents to follow the old system for allotting the area for supplying the water to the locations on the basis of consultation and consensus, as per the residential or office address from where the petitioners/successful tenderer functions and not by the system of DRAW in allotting an area.

3. Mr.R.Singaravelan, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that in respect of the relief sought for by the petitioners, they have already given a representation to the 1st respondent on 21.06.2017, however, the respondents have not considered the same yet.

4. Mr.G.Janakiraman, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the 1st respondent may be directed to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioners dated 21.06.2017, in accordance with law, within a time frame.

5. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the learned Senior Counsel for the petitioners, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 21.06.2017 and pass orders, in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.
