ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondent to shift the service connection No.842 in the name of the petitioner for the agricultural land comprised in Survey No.385/5 at Veeraganur Village, Thalaivasal Taluk, Salem District.

2. On instructions, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that on receipt of the application from the petitioner, the respondent estimated the value of the shifting charges and also laid the electric pole for shifting the electricity service connection. While being so, one Azhaguvel objected the transfer of service connection in favour of the petitioner on the ground that he is also half of the right over the well, in which the petitioner sought for electricity service connection. Therefore, the application submitted by the petitioner is pending.

3. In view of the above submission, the respondent is directed to conduct enquiry, after issuance of notice to the petitioner as well as the objector, viz., Azhaguvel, and after giving an opportunity to them, and pass appropriate orders on the application submitted by the petitioner for transfer of

electricity service connection No.842 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
