O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose the Revision petition dated 13.12.2021 filed against the orders of the second respondent in Mu.Mu.A2/5718/2017 dated 21.02.2020 relating to the cancellation of the extent shown in patta no.38, Natham land in SFNo.61/17 of Keezhamaligai Village, Sendurai Taluk, Ariyalur District.

The case of the petitioner is that during the Natham Survey Settlement, patta in respect of the subject property was granted in favour of the petitioner's father and after his demise, the petitioner and his brother inherited the property and after the death of the petitioner's brother, the petitioner and his brother's son are in joint possession and enjoyment of the property and patta jointly stand in their names. Whileso, the second respondent without any notice or enquiry, vide proceedings dated 21.02.2020 modified the FMB sketch of the property by reducing the extent of the property. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed revision before the first respondent and since the same has not yet been considered, has filed this writ petition.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue direction to the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's Revision petition dated 13.12.2021 within a reasonable time frame.

4. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's Revision petition dated 13.12.2021, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
