Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of writ, directing the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and providing sufficient armed men (Personal Security Officer) with necessary arrangements in Chennai City and also during his travels, enabling him to live peacefully and perform his social activities.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and provide sufficient armed men (Personal Security Officer) with necessary arrangements in Chennai City and also during his travels, enabling him to live peacefully and perform his social activities.

2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police.

3. The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that despite the representation of the petitioner, the respondent police has not acted to provide Private Security to the petitioner and there are three attempts were made to attack the petitioner. He would also submitted that this Court may direct the respondent police to give necessary police protection to the petitioner.

4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police submitted that the respondent police will pass orders on the petitioner's representation within a period of one month.

5. In view of the above, the respondent police is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass suitable orders as per law within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above directions. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed. No costs.
