O R D E R
The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent Police to provide police protection to the petitioner based on the complaint dated 28.10.2015.
2. In the petition, it has been stated that the petitioner's wife Narmadha has divorced the petitioner and is living separately at Plot No.42-A, Mummoorthy Nagar, 3rd Street, Chrompet, Chennai. The petitioner had two children viz., Rubesh
Krishna and Vignesh. After the divorce, the said Narmadha started troubling the petitioner one after the other directly and also through her father Subramani and her brother Pachamuthu @ Ramesh. It is further stated that the petitioner owns a house at Kandan Street, Gokulam Colony, Karanai Poocheri, Oorapakkam. He rented the above premises to his relative Mr.Raje, who is a gold smith. The said Mr.Raje is from Villupuram. Due to Saraswathi Pooja, Mr.Raje has locked the house and went to Villupuram. He kept the gold for preparing ornaments inside the house and went to Villupuram. In the said situation, the petitioner's wife Narmadha along with her father Subramani and her brother Pachamuthu @ Ganesh, broke the lock and have taken away the belongings of the said Raje from the house. When the petitioner questioned the same, they have threatened the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint. But till date there was no action. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present criminal original petition.
3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.
4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the respondents police to consider the petitioner's complaint dated 28.10.2015, by affording an opportunity of personal hearing to him and pass appropriate orders, with regard to provide police protection, preferably within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
