By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner vide application dated 09.08.2011, prays for permission to have a Rifle arm and it was rejected by the second respondent vide proceedings dated 16.05.2012 and challenging the same, the petitioner filed an appeal before the first respondent on 24.08.2012 and it was taken on file on 12.12.2014 and since it is yet to be given disposal, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.M.Manikandhan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Govindasamy, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's appeal petition dated 24.08.2012, which was taken on file on 12.12.2014, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly.
