Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the relief of issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.08.2015 with regard to grant of All India Contract Carriage permit and pass appropriate orders thereon.

ORDER

Seeking to issue a mandamus to the respondent directing him to consider his application dated 24.08.2015 for the grant of All India Contract Carriage Permit, the petitioner is now before this court with this writ petition.

2. According to the petitioner, he is an existing contract carriage operator in the State of Tamil Nadu from 1994 onwards. He applied for the grant of All India Contract Carriage Permit to the respondent on 24.08.2015 along with requisite fees and necessary documents and the same is pending with the respondent for consideration. The grievance of the petitioner is that there are many similar matters pending with the respondent for consideration and as such his application will also be kept aside.

3. Heard both sides.

4. Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for in the writ petition, without going into the merits of the claim of the petitioner, this court directs the respondent to consider the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

application of the petitioner dated 24.08.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders thereon within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
