It is a case of lack of attendance. The petitioner has not written the second semester examination. Counsel for the petitioner submitted that already a request has been made seeking to condone the lack of attendance. As per the Rules and Regulations, in a given case, the Vice-Chancellor can condone the shortage of attendance in a deserving case.

Therefore, learned counsel submitted that appropriate orders will have to be passed by the respondent in this regard by the respondent.

Considering the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to pass appropriate orders on the request made by the petitioner seeking to condone the shortage of attendance, if not done already. Needless to say that if the request of the petitioner has already been considered, the same will be communicated to the petitioner. The respondents are directed to complete such exercise within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With this direction, the writ petition stands disposed of.
