(The case has been heard through video conference) The Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's application dated 13.10.2020 for issuance of patta in her name. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that, the petitioner's mother earlier owned the property in Natham Survey No.2A/2A, New Survey No.509/12,509/13, admeasuring an extent of 2180 sq.ft. situate at No.3, 1st Street, Pudur Village, Madhurandhagam Taluk, Chengalpattu District. Thereafter, she had executed a settlement deed in favour of petitioner on 21.04.2010. Pursuant to the same, she is in possession and enjoyment of the property and thereafter, she had filed an application before the 3rd respondent to grant patta in her name on 13.10.2020. But, so far, the petitioner's application was not considered and no order has been passed on it. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner.

3. Considering the limited prayer sought in the Writ Petition, without going into the merits of the case, the 3rd respondent Tahsildar is directed to consider the petitioner's application and to pass suitable orders on merits in accordance with law after hearing the petitioner as well as rival claimants, if any within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
