The petitioner joined service as Grade I Police Constable on 10.05.1991. According to the petitioner, due to her illness, she submitted her resignation on 06.05.2000. The second respondent, by proceedings, dated 07.09.2000 accepted her resignation. The petitioner preferred an appeal to the first respondent to reinstate her in service. But the same was rejected on 23.05.2006. Hence, the petitioner has come up with this writ petition to quash the order dated 23.05.2006.

2. When the writ petition came up for admission on 04.02.2015, this Court directed the petitioner to file an affidavit explaining https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the delay in approaching this Court. Today, an affidavit is filed. However, I am not satisfied with the reasons stated by the petitioner in the affidavit. The petitioner herself submitted her resignation as early as on 06.05.2000. Thereafter, she sought reinstatement and the same was rejected on 23.05.2006.

3. The petitioner has slept over for more than 9 years and approached this court belatedly seeking to quash the order dated 23.05.2006, without properly explaining the delay. I am of the view that the petitioner is not entitled to succeed. The writ petition fails and the same is accordingly dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
