Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents to give permission to the petitioner to conduct a cultural program schedule to be held on 09.06.2016 Shir Mariamman Temple at Thirumansollai Nagaram, Vaniyambadi Taluk, Vellore District, by considering the petitioner representation dated 01.06.2016.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be a resident of Thirumansollai Nagaram Village, Vaniyambadi Taluk, Vellore District. He submitted a representation/application dated 01.06.2016 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct a cultural program on 09.06.2016, in connection with the temple festival of Sri Mariamman Temple, situated in the above said village, which includes song and dance programme and since, he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and who would submit that since the petitioner has approached this Court at the very last minute, orders cannot be passed on the representation/application submitted by him and that too, no acknowledgment has been produced for having submitted such representation/application.

As rightly contended by the learned Special Government Pleader, the petitioner has approached this Court at the very last moment and therefore, this Court is not in a position to pass any positive orders in respect of the function to be held today.

However, taking into consideration, the facts and circumstances, this Court permits the petitioner to submit one more representation/application to the respondent to conduct the cultural programme in connection with the temple festival to be held on future date and the respondent, on receipt of the same, is directed to consider the said representation / application in accordance with law within a period of one week from the date of receipt of such representation/application and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.

6. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
