Prayer: The writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.10.2016 and to grant such other reliefs under the circumstances of the case and thus render justice.

O R D E R

The restricted prayer made in this Writ Petition is to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner, seeking compassionate appointment.

2.The father of the writ petitioner late M.V.Udhaya Kumar was working as Conductor in the State Transport Corporation for about seventeen years and while he was in service, he died in the road accident. At the time of death, the deceased was aged about 42 years and the writ petitioner was aged about 9 years . On attaining the age of 18 years, the writ petitioner made an Application seeking compassionate appointment, stating the indigent circumstances of the family.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the said Application seeking compassionate appointment is pending and the writ petitioner is not aware about the seniority of the candidates seeking for appointment on compassionate ground in the Transport Department. Hence, the writ petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

4.Taking note of the factual circumstances narrated in the Writ Petition, this Court is inclined to direct the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 17.10.2016 and pass final orders on merits in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
