Respondents (Respondent No.4 suo motu impleaded as per the order dated 08.01.2019) Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to break open the lock of Sri Mariamman Temple situate at New Survey No.916, Old No.566, Molapalayam village, Pooluvapatti post, Coimbatore.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.Krishnasamy Chinnasamy, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr.S.Kamalesh Kannan, learned Government Advocate for respondent No.1 and 2 and Mr.M.Maharaja, learned Special Government Pleader (HR & CE) for respondent No.4.

2. The limited prayer of the petitioner is that respondent Nos.1 and 2 be directed to break open the lock of Sri Mariamman Temple situated at New Survey No.916, Old Survey No.556, Molapalayam Village, Pooluvapatti Post, Coimbatore.

3. The counter-affidavits filed by respondent No.4 i.e., the Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department as well as respondent No.2 i.e., the Tahsildar, Perur show that the lock has been opened.

In view of the above, nothing further survives for consideration in the writ petition and the writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
