ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioners to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to give protection to the petitioner and her husband and to take action against

petitioner's parents and relatives based on petitioner representation dated 01.07.2021 and 05.07.2021.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner got married with one Mr.Karthikeyan on 01.07.2021 at Chennai. Both are living together at Chennai. Due to the intercaste marriage between them, both the family members are threatening them and the petitioner is apprehending coercive action from the law enforcing agency from Sivakasi. Hence seeks police protection.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), appearing for the official respondents and perused the records.

4. Since both are young and in teen age and they got married and also there is a reasonable threat from the families, the first respondent is directed to extend protection to the petitioner and her husband as long as they are residing in Chennai in the manner known to law. The first respondent is directed to give direction to the Inspector of Police, Ashok Nagar, Chennai to give necessary police protection to the petitioner and her husband forthwith.
