Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent to provide electricity supply to the property of the petitioner comprised in old survey No.367/1 and in new survey No.557/12 and 557/19 situated at No.35, Kamalar Street, Pondhavakkam Village, Uthukottai Taluk, Thiruvallur District, based on the representation dated 11.05.2022 issued by the petitioner.

By consent of both the parties, this writ petition has been taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the 3rd respondent to provide electricity
service connection in the name of the petitioner for his property comprised in old survey No.367/1 and in new survey No.557/12 and 557/19 situated at No.35, Kamalar Street, Pondhavakkam Village, Uthukottai Taluk, Thiruvallur District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 11.05.2022 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
3. The petitioner has applied for electricity service connection in his name for the above mentioned property. He has filed documents along with this writ petition to substantiate his case that he is the owner of the aforementioned property. He has submitted an application with the respondent on 19.01.2022 seeking for electricity service connection in his name. Following the said application, he has also sent another representation on 11.05.2022. Since his application has not been considered till date, he has filed this writ petition.
4. Heard Mr.C.D.Sugumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, learned Standing Counsel for TNEB, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's application seeking for grant of electricity service connection in his name for the aforementioned property is considered on merits and in accordance with law after affording an opportunity of fair hearing to the petitioner including granting him the right of personal hearing within a period to be fixed by this Court.
6. For the forgoing reasons, this Court directs the 3rd respondent to pass a final order on the petitioner's application dated 19.01.2022, followed by his representation dated 11.05.2022, seeking for electricity service connection in his name for his property comprised in old survey No.367/1 and in new survey No.557/12 and 557/19 situated at No.35, Kamalar Street, Pondhavakkam Village, Uthukottai Taluk, Thiruvallur District, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after affording an opportunity of fair hearing to the petitioner including granting him the right of personal hearing.
7. With the aforesaid directions, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
