Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st Respondent herein to consider the representation of the Petitioner herein, dated 05.04.2016 and pass orders thereon within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

The Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the First Respondent to consider the representation of the Petitioner dated 05.04.2016 to include one person from 'Sandroor Kula Marabinar (Gramaniar) community as a member of the Board of Trustees of Arulmigu Sri Drowbathai Amman Temple, Murungampakkam on the ground that the persons belonging to the Gramaniar community are involved in conducting the festival and participate in the worship of the said temple. 2.

Respondents submits that the Board of Trustees of the said Temple has been constituted in G.O. Ms. No. 53/CHRI/T.4/2006-07 dated 06.04.2018 issued by the Government of Puducherry, after verification by the Police and Revenue Authorities. In view of the subsequent developments, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw the Writ Petition and has made an endorsement to that effect, which is recorded. 3.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, it is made clear that when future vacancies arise, it is open to the members of the community to which the Petitioner belongs to make representation for their appointment for consideration by the concerned authority along with members of other communities, if they satisfy the qualifications and conditions prescribed for appointment as Trustee, on merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
