Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission stage itself.

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the the respondents to consider the petitioners representation dated 05.01.2021 for granting of patta in respect of the Gramanatham land measuring about 9-cents comprised in Survey No.48/1 of Mel Porunthavakkam Village Chengalpattu Taluk and District within the time to be stipulated by this Honourable Court.
3. The case of the petitioner is that the land measuring about 9 cents comprised in S.No.48/1 of Mel Porunthavakkam Village, Chengalpettu Taluk and District, is classified as Grama natham in the revenue records. The petitioner's grandfather was in possession and enjoyment of the above mentioned property. For the past 20 years, the petitioner is residing in the said land. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to the 4th respondents to grant patta in respect of the aforesaid land on 05.01.2021 and the same was forwarded to the third respondent to take necessary steps. However, till date, the third respondent has not taken any steps to decide the issue, for which, the petitioner has filed the present petition before this Court seeking appropriate remedy.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2021 and pass appropriate orders within the time frame as fixed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited request made by the petitioner, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner and pass necessary orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
