COMMON ORDER The petitioners are working as Assistant Engineers in Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board. The petitioners have made a claim to include their names in the list of candidates fit for promotion to the post of Assistant Executive Engineers for the year 2014-2015. Since there was no follow up action taken by the respondent pursuant to the said representations, the petitioners are before this Court.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel for the respondent.

3.The question as to whether the names of the petitioners should be included in the provisional list for promotion to the post of Assistant Executive Engineers is essentially an issue to be considered by the respondent.

4.The respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representations submitted by the petitioners dated 12.06.2014 (W.P.No.17737 of 2014), 20.06.2014 (W.P.No.17738 of 2014), 12.06.2014 (W.P.No.17739 of 2014) and 12.06.2014 (W.P.No.17740 of 2014) respectively on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.The writ petitions are disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
