Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner for regularization of service in the post of Work Inspector on completion of ten years of service as per G.O.Ms.No.202, Public Works Department dated 01.08.2012 on the subject, on the basis of representation dated 05.07.2021 with effect from the initial appointment and within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal and disposed of by this order.

Mr.C.Kathiravan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner for regularization of service in the post of Work Inspector on completion of ten years of service as per G.O.Ms.No.202, Public Works Department dated 01.08.2012, by considering his representation dated 05.07.2021 within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, the petitioner will be satisfied if a direction is given to the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of his representation dated 06.08.2020 followed by the reminder representation dated 05.07.2021 on merits and in accordance with law within a stipulated time frame. 5.
This Court heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and also perused the materials placed before it.

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, considering the limited scope of prayer now sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the claim projected by him either in representations dated 06.08.2020 and 05.07.2021 respectively or in this writ petition and without prejudice to the contentions of either parties, directs the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations dated 06.08.2020 and 05.07.2021 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner herein.

The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
