PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to pass an order of direction to the respondent police directing them to register an FIR on the basis of the petitioner's complaint dated on 24.05.2018 in CSR.No.89 of 2018 and investigate the matter and file a final report within a stipulated period of time.

O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the second respondent police to register a case based on the complaint given by the petitioner dated 24.05.2018.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that on 23.05.2018 at Kattupalli, the petitioner's son S.Sathya and two others spread the net inside the sea and waited for fishing and at that time, one ship (by name XIAMEN) pulled away the fishing net and due to this, 300 Kg fishing net was dragged along with the pilot ship followed by the XIAMEN ship and both the ships destroyed the fishing net and hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the second respondent on 24.05.2018, but, so far, no action has been taken. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The learned Public Prosecutor has submitted that the said complaint is still pending for enquiry.

4. Considering the aforesaid submissions, the second respondent is directed to expedite the enquiry and if the enquiry reveals any cognizable offence, then he has to register a case and proceed in accordance with law within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
