O R D E R

The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to conduct proper investigation in Crime No.353/2015 on his file and file a final report before the appropriate court in accordance with law within a time stipulated by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that a complaint was lodged as against one Amudha and Alla with the respondent police. Based on the complaint, a case was registered in Crime No.353/2015 for the offence under Sections 420 and 506(2) IPC. Though the complaint was registered on 12.02.2015 and almost eight months have lapsed from the date of F.I.R., till date there is no progress. Hence, the present petition.

3. When the matter is taken up for consideration, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that there is allegation of cheating which involves lots of documents to be verified and therefore, it is not possible to complete the investigation within a short span of time.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner replied that the petitioner is a senior citizen and thus, he has sought for a direction as prayed for.

5. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the 1st respondent police to complete the investigation in respect of Crime No.353 of 2015 on his file and file a final report as expeditiously as possible.
