O R D E R

The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to register the complaint given by the petitioner dated 20.11.2014 in accordance with law.

2. The petitioner herein lodged a complaint as against one Rajkumar and C.Gowtham stating that on 01.05.2014 at 6.30 a.m., they have threatened the petitioner and assaulted him with iron rod. The petitioner was admitted in Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital, Chennai, as in patient. Thereafter, the incident was informed to the 2nd respondent over phone. Based on the information, a Police Constable came to the hospital and enquired into the matter and reduced the same into writing and obtained the signature of the petitioner. The petitioner took treatment in the hospital from 01.05.2014 to 12.05.2014 as in patient. Since, no action was taken on the complaint, the petitioner has given a complaint before the first respondent on 20.11.2014 and for the past one year, no action was taken by the respondents. Hence, the present criminal original petition has been filed.

3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. In view of the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to conduct enquiry and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, the 2nd respondent is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.
