By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 1/4

2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 8.1.2024.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that the petitioner purchased an agricultural land bearing Patta No.3950, measuring 0.92 cents comprised in S.No.52/1 and 0.48 cents comprised in S.No.51/9, in Anupampattu (Anupampattu Group-I Villages), Pulikulam Village, Ponneri Taluk, Thiruvallur District by way of registered sale deed dated 15.04.2023 vide sale deed No.3320 of 2023 before the 3rd respondent. After registration of the said sale deed No.3320 of 2023, 3rd respondent has referred the said registered document under Section 47A of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 to the 2nd respondent for determining the market value of lands. Thereafter, the 2nd respondent passed an order fixing the value of land at Rs.250/- per sq. feet. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has preferred the present writ petition.

4. At the outset, Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents would submit that they would consider and dispose of the appeal, in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court. 2/4

In view of the same, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested persons/stake holders, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the appeal and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the same on its own merits and in accordance with law.
