Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents, particularly respondents 1 and 2 to pass appropriate orders for assignment of pattas to all the petitioners free of land cost, relaxing the condition in Notification No.J5/53987/2000 dated 19.9.2000 with respect to the houses No.1 to 20 at T.S.No.24, Block No.65, Kodambakkam Village, Mambalam Guindy Taluk. O R D E R
The petitioners have been assigned with pattas by the proceedings of the respondents 2 and 5. A representation was given by the petitioners on 27.4.2015 to the respondents stating that the condition for payment of money as found in the earlier proceedings already issued has to be relaxed.
2. Though the representation has not been made to the first respondent, the petitioners were informed that the request is referred to the District Collector/second respondent herein. However, no order has been passed till date. Thereafter, the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioners.
3. Taking into consideration the facts and the petitioners' request is pending consideration with the second respondent, a direction is issued to the said Authority viz., the second respondent to pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioners are also further directed to furnish the said representation to the second respondent along with a copy of this order, within a period of two weeks thereafter.
