Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the third respondent to cancel the patta in the name of individual in respect of land in survey No.392/2 extent 0.12.0 Hec. at Nedungulam Village, Edapadi Taluk, Salem District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 06.12.2022.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.M.Elango, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader assisted by Mr.K.M.D.Muhilan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

2. The petitioner seeks cancellation of patta in favour of an individual. The said individual is not made as a party in the present writ petition.

3. Learned State Government Pleader submits that the procedure for cancellation of patta is provided under the Patta Passbook Act, 1983.

4. In the light of that, it is for the petitioner to avail the remedy available under law.

5. The writ petition, as such, stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
