Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to remove and abate the nuisance / Municipal Wastes from the lands in S.Nos.235, 234, 231 and 238 in North Jagannathan Nagar, Korattur, Ambattur Taluk (Old Saidapet Taluk), Chennai-600 076, which stand submerged in Industrial Gutter/Sewerage Wastes being let out from the year 1985 by respondents standing in the form of a lake of 24,000 sq.ft. with 5 feet depth, through an open Channel from Paadi, Patrawaakkam and beyond, making available the 1 ground housing plots of the owners of that area for buidling their own houses, within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The grievance made in this Public Interest Litigation is really of a personal nature and that too stated to have arisen 30 years ago. We are, thus, not inclined to entertain the matter as a Public Interest Litigation.
2.However, we have requested the learned counsel for the Corporation / first respondent and the learned counsel for the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board / second respondent to look into the grievance of the petitioner, which is stated to arise from the release of sewerage causing unhealthy conditions in the area making living difficult. The matter be looked into within a period of one month from today. 3.Writ Petition is dismissed with the aforesaid observation. No costs.
