ORDER

This petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.7148 of 2023 pending on the file of the learned Metropolitan Magistrate for exclusive trial for CCB/CBCID Metro cases, Egmore, thereby taken cognizance for the offences under Sections 406, 420 r/w. 34, 120(B) of IPC, as against the petitioners. 2.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.

The case of the prosecution is that the accused persons had received a sum of Rs.1,03,00,000/- from the defacto complaint for obtaining the post of Vice Chancellor in the Alagappa University, Karaikal. After completion of investigation, the first respondent filed final report and the same has been taken cognizance in C.C.No.7148 of 2023 on the file of the learned Metropolitan Magistrate for exclusive trial for CCB/CBCID Metro cases, Egmore.

Though the petitioners and the second respondent had entered into compromise, it is a case of job rocketing and the petitioners had committed very serious offence as against the society. There are

specific allegations as against the petitioners and therefore, this Court is not inclined to quash the proceedings under compromise. The trial Court is directed to complete the trial in C.C.No.7148 of 2023, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order. 5.

Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
