ORDER

The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.2131 of 2015 and to file a final report within a stipulated time frame.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that one Dillibabu lodged a complaint as against the petitioner with the respondent police and the same was registered in Crime No.2131 of 2015 for the offence punishable under Sections 294(b), 323 and 506(ii) I.P.C. and the petitioner was arrested and later, released on bail. While so, on 2.7.2015, when the petitioner was returning home, the said Dillibabu approached him in an intoxicated condition and started abusing him. Thereafter, on 3.7.2015 the petitioner was taken by the respondent and was remanded to judicial custody. The petitioner and his family members are facing threats regularly due to lack of investigation in this case. Hence, the present petition.

3. I have heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent is directed to investigate the case in Crime No.2131 of 2015 pending on his file and file a final report as expeditiously as possible. The Criminal Original Petition is ordered accordingly.
