The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to give protection to the petitioner to complete installation and commissioning of
the telecommunication tower at S.F.No.31/34 and Old S.F.No.91/2A, Plot No.21, CLV Nagar Layout, Kanathur, Reddikuppam, Village, Chengalpet Taluk, as per the petitioner's complaint dated 16.10.2015.
2. The petitioner is a private limited company engaged in the business of installing and operating telecommunication towers and infrastructure throughout India for mobile operators. The petitioner has entered into a lease agreement with the owner of the land in S.F.No.31/34 and Old S.F.No.91/2A, Plot No.21, CLV Nagar Layout, Kanathur, Reddikuppam Village, Chengalpet Taluk. The petitioner started erecting the Tower and other infrastructure has also been put in the place and the company has already invested more than Rupees four lakhs.
When the officers and the workmen of the operator company came to the site to inspect the work and to install the necessary equipment, some of the local residents gathered in the place and objected to the installation of the equipment and threatened the petitioner company agents as well as the officers and workers with dire consequences. Though, the petitioner lodged a complainant to the respondent on 16.10.2015 seeking police protection for completing the installation of the equipment and the same was not considered by the respondent police. Hence, the petitioner has come up with the present petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate, Criminal Side appearing for the respondents.
4. It appears that the petitioner is installing telecommunication tower in the leased out land which is being objected by some neighbours. Taking into consideration the nature of the allegations, the respondent police is directed to look into the nature of the petition and give police protection as sought for by the petitioner.
5. The criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
