O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to provide adequate police protection

to lay underground pipeline in the petitioner's land comprised in Survey Nos.44/1B, 13/3B, 13/2A, 11/B/6A situated at Veppur Taluk, Cuddalore District.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. It is seen from the records that the petitioner was permitted by the Higways Department to lay an underground pipeline in his patta land, by an order dated 11.09.2024. However, while the petitioner was laying pipeline, the villagers were objecting the same. In this regard, the petitioner lodged a complaint and the same is pending on the file of the second respondent.

4. In view of the above, the second respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the counter party, if any, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
