The petitioner/accused in Crime No.5 of 2021 has filed this petition seeking to consider his bail application for offence under Sections 341, 323, 324, 506(ii) r/w 34 of I.P.C. and Section 3(1)(r) and 3(1)(s) of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 (Amendment 2015). 2.The complaint against the petitioner is that on 24.02.2021, the de facto complainant went to Vellavedu to buy fish in whole for his business. While returning through Karasur village, one Veerappan from Kadapperi Kuppam along with two others restrained the de facto complainant and questioned about the selling of fish and his whereabouts.
When the de facto complainant informed that he comes from Ottai village, he was questioned whether he is from the village or colony and thereafter finding that de facto complainant came from the colony he was harassed, assaulted using his caste name in a public view. Hence, complaint lodged. Further in this case, now investigation completed, charge sheet filed in Spl.S.C.No.26 of 2025, which is pending trial before the II Additional Sessions Judge at Puducherry.
3.The Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) submitted that there are totally 3 accused in this case. A1 is appearing, A2 recently passed away and the petitioner is A3, against whom summons already issued and the case is posted before the trial Court for hearing on 02.06.2026. 4.The learned counsel for petitioner submits that the petitioner will appear before the trial Court on 02.06.2026 in response to the summons and execute bond and also appear before the trial Court on all hearing dates without fail. 5.Recording the above submission, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
