ORDER

Heard Mrs.S.Sathiachandran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.V.Gangatharani, learned standing counsel for the respondent University and with their consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for disposal at the admission stage.

2. The petitioner seeks for a direction upon the respondent to consider his representation dated 22.7.2014. By the said representation, the petitioner has requested the change of guide to enable him to pursue his Ph.D programme under the guidance of Dr. (Sr.) R. Regina Mary, Assistant Professor, P.G. and Research Department of Zoology, Auxilium College (Autonomous), Vellore 632 006, who has also given her consent letter on 22.7.2014. Earlier, the petitioner was under the supervision of Dr.A.Abdul Rahuman, who has also given No Objection letter dated 16.7.2014.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner invited the attention of this Court to Regulation No.17 of the University Regulations, which stipulates that Transfer of Ph.D scholars from one Supervisor to another supervisor can be effected, if mutual willingness was https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

given by both the original and new Supervisors. The petitioner would submit that both the previous and the present supervisors have given their willingness and, therefore, he requested the University to approve the change.

4. The learned counsel for the respondent University submits that reasonable time may be granted to the University to consider the representation in accordance with University Regulations.

5. Accordingly,there will be a direction to the respondent University to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.7.2014 for change of guide by taking note of the letters given by the previous Supervisor as well as the present Supervisor and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
