O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the proceedings in S.T.C.No.7682 of 2022 pending on the file of Fast Track - II, Metropolitan Magistrate Court (Allikulam), Egmore, Chennai and to compound the offence in view of the compromise between the parties. 1/4

2. The petitioner and the respondent are father and daughter. The proceedings are pending u/s.138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act before the Court below in S.T.C.No.7682 of 2022. The parties wanted to compromise the dispute and hence, they have entered into a compromise agreement dated 21.02.2024, which was filed before this Court. They were also physically present before this Court and they have stated that the matter has been compromised between them.

3. In the light of the above development, the offence is compounded under Section 147 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and the proceedings in S.T.C.No.7682 of 2022 pending on the file of Fast Track - II, Metropolitan Magistrate Court (Allikulam), Egmore, Chennai, is hereby quashed.

This Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
