ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the 2nd respondent to produce the petitioner's daughter viz., Priyadharshini, aged about 22 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Priyadharshini, aged about 22 years, went missing from https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

21.06.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

On instructions, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Chinnasalem Police Station Crime No.595 of 2021 was registered on 24.06.2021 for 'woman missing' and during the course of investigation, it came to light that Priyadharshini has eloped with Karthik, third respondent herein. Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kallakurichi Sub-Division, to monitor the investigation in Chinnasalem Police Station Crime No.595 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when Priyadharshini, aged about 22 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kallakurichi, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
