Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to sanction the Educational Loan to the tune of Rs.2,06,445/- (Two Lakhs Six thousand and four hundred and forty five) to which the petitioner would be eligible by accepting the application for Educational Loan and the relevant documents as early as possible.

O R D E R

The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondent Bank to sanction the Educational Loan to the tune of Rs.2,06,445/-.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The petitioner, after completing his schooling and UG Degree in B.Sc. Computer Science is now pursuing his Master's Degree Course in M.C.A. for the academic year 2016-2019 in a College, viz., Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) at Tirupattur. The petitioner applied for educational loan to pursue the said course on 24.02.2017 and 08.50.2017 and again, on 18.07.2017 and finally, on 08.08.2017.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said applications have not been considered so far. Needless to say that when an application is filed for grant of educational loan, the respondent Bank cannot keep the matter pending for such a long time since the timely disbursement of such educational loan will lend a helping hand to the petitioner to pursue his course without any hindrance. Therefore, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner for grant of educational loan and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent Bank fairly submitted that the application of the petitioner will be considered by the respondent Bank and appropriate orders will be passed within the time stipulated as stated supra.
