ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the 4th and 5th Respondents herein and appoint the Petitioner as a Village Assistant in Sirkazhi Taluk, Myeiladuthurai District.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner is qualified with 10th standard. On the basis of the notification issued by the fifth respondent, she had applied for the appointment to the post of Village Assistant in Sirkali Taluk, during the year 2019. However, she was not selected and ineligible persons were appointed as Village Assistants, during the year 2019. For the next year, there was a notification dated 21.12.2021, calling for applications for the post of 21 Village Assistants in Sirkali Taluk, Mayiladuthurai District. The petitioner also applied for the said post and attended the interview. However, no result was published by the fifth respondent. Thereafter, the petitioner was furnished with an information under the Right to Information Act, on 18.05.2022.

4. A perusal of the said information revealed that 15 persons were appointed as Village Assistants in Sirkali Taluk. However, no rules and norms were followed while appointing them as Village Assistants. They also committed irregularities while appointing Village Assistants including the petitioner. Therefore, the appointment was cancelled and directed to take appropriate action as against the Deputy Tahsildar and his assistants.

5. Therefore, the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 06.05.2022 cannot be considered and this writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed.
