PRAYER :

Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant permission to hold procession for Natthikar Vizha and have Public Meeting for Century Festival of Dr.Ambedkar, Periyar and Maniammaiyar on 25.05.2019 between 04.00 p.m to 10.00 p.m nearby Mettur Municipality Commercial Complex pursuant to my representation dated 03.05.2019 and 04.05.2019.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the 2nd respondent to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct the festival on 25.05.2019 between 04.00 p.m to 10.00 p.m.

2.In this regard, the petitioner has already given a representation dated 03.05.2019 and 04.05.2019 to the 2nd respondent.

3.Heard, Mr.R.Thirumoorthy, learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent Police. 4.Considering the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation dated 03.05.2019 and 04.05.2019 given by the petitioner and grant permission to conduct the festival on 25.05.2019 between 04.00 p.m to 10.00 p.m. 5.It is left open to the 2nd respondent to impose necessary conditions in order to ensure that the programe does not in any way cause inconvenience to the general public. Those conditions will have to be strictly complied by the petitioner. 6.With the above said direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
