PRAYER : Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent Police to grant permission and Police protection to the petitioner to conduct the programme of reciting stories about the life of Ponnar Shankar 15 days consecutively from 11.05.2019 to 25.05.2019 from 08.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m in May 2019 in front of Vinayagar Temple in Kattamarapalayam Village, Unjapalayam Post, Mohanur Taluk, Namakkal District.

ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for permission and Police protection to conduct the program from 11.05.2019 to 25.05.2019 in a temple.
2.The petitioner has given a representation to the respondent on 26.04.2019 and since the same has not been considered, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking for appropriate directions.
3.Heard M/s.G.Mutharasu, learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent Police.
4.In view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the respondent police to consider the representation dated 26.04.2019 given by the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
petitioner and permit the petitioner to conduct the program from 11.05.2019 to 25.05.2019 daily between 07.00 p.m to 10.00 p.m. The respondent Police shall choose an appropriate place where the program can be conducted and the respondent Police shall ensure that the program does not in any way cause any hindrance to the general public.
5.It is left open to the respondent Police to impose reasonable conditions and the petitioner is bound to comply with the same.
6. With the above said directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
