O R D E R

The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed to call for the records in Crime No.1072 of 2014 on the file of the first respondent police and quash the same.

2. Despite service of notice and the name of the second respondent having been printed in the cause list, none appeared for the second respondent. Learned counsel for the petitioner is present.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the second respondent has lodged a false complaint with the first respondent police as against him and another and the same was registered as FIR in Crime No.1072 of 2014 for the offences punishable under Sections 403, 409, 418 and 464 IPC. Though the said complaint was registered as early as on 25.08.2014, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, the present petition.

4. I have heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the first respondent to investigate the case in Crime No.1072 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report, if not already filed, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
