ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to release the vehicle lorry bearing registration No.TN59CP204, which was seized by the respondents on 06.04.2025. 2.
Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.
It is seen that the petitioner owned vehicle lorry bearing registration No.TN-59CP204 chassis No. MBIAZGCD5NRDB5842, Engine No.NDHZ426572 model CA1815/42H FBL. The said vehicle was involved in the crime registered in Crime No.178 of 2025 for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(C) & 4(1-A)(i) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act. Though the petitioner is not an accused, the vehicle was involved in the crime by its driver. Therefore, the vehicle has been seized and it has to be confiscated and it is under progress. Therefore, the direction sought for by the petitioner in this petition cannot be granted and the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
