The petitioners / A1 and A2 who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 465, 468, 471, 120(B) of IPC and under Section 66 D of the Information Technology Act, 2000 in Crime No.12 of 2023, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.The petitioners are spouses. The 1st petitioner is working as a Teacher in the Government School. It is stated that the defacto complainant had given a complaint that he had paid a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- for getting a Government job and that the petitioners had also issued an Appointment order for the post as Clerk in Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu and they had also issued a confirmation letter and also identity card. But there was no employment actually available and the entire documents so furnished appear to be fake.

3.It is contended on the side of the respondent that in a similar method six other persons had been cheated and a total sum of Rs.35,00,000/- had been so collected by the petitioners herein. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioners stated that the defacto complainant and the 1st petitioner are relatives and there had been earlier monetary transaction between the two of them. It is also contended that a cheque had been given as security by the petitioners, but still complaint had been lodged.

5.However, the petitioners have to answer the claim of the other six persons, who are not relatives. The fact is that appointment orders, confirmation letters and identity cards had been given which turned to be fake and forged. Hence, the petitioners will have to be taken into custody and interrogated about the manner in which they have committed the offence and the total amount involved.

6.Taking into consideration the gravity of offence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 11.10.2023 smv 3/4
