Respondents Prayer :- Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 13.07.2021 in accordance with law particularly G.O. (M.S) No. 148 school education (Pa.Ka6 (1) department dated 20.07.2018 and G.O. (M.S) Mp/ 131 dated 29.07. 2019 by getting 50 percentage English medium classes in the middle school Milagakuppam to secure ends of justice For Petitioner : Mr. R.Sankarasubbu For Respondents : Mr. A.Selvendran Government Advocate

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 13.07.2021, wherein the petitioner school has requested for getting 50% English Medium classes in the middle school. 2 / 6

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner school is a 100% Tamil Medium School and it is also an aided school. The petitioner wants to provide English Medium Education to the people belonging to the locality. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents on 13.07.2021 to grant atleast 50% English Medium classes in the middle school by considering the relevant Government Orders. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court, seeking for appropriate directions. 4.

The learned Government Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the representation given by the petitioner will be considered by the 5th respondent in line with the relevant Government Orders and a decision will be taken and conveyed to the petitioner within the time limit fixed by this Court. 3 / 6

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by the learned Government Counsel, the 5th respondent is directed to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 13.07.2021 and deal with the same in line with the Government orders and convey the decision to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. If the 5th respondent requires any additional particulars or documents from the petitioner school, the same shall be immediately provided by the petitioner to enable the 5th respondent to take a decision within the time limit fixed by this Court.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions is also closed.
