ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed seeking to punish the respondents for having violated the order passed in WP No.6276 of 2018 dated 09.09.2024. 2.While allowing the above said Writ Petition, this Court directed the petitioner to make a representation to the second respondent for claiming interest for the belated settlement,

within a period of one month, from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. The second respondent is directed to consider the said representation, and pass orders, within a period of 12 weeks, after providing an opportunity to the other respondents. The respondent is further directed to pay the interest @ 6% per annum on the delayed payment of retirement benefits to the petitioner, from the date of the retirement till the date of actual payment made, subject to the final decision that may be taken by the second respondent.

At the admission of stage of this case, Mr.G.S.Govinda Prasad, learned counsel who is representing for the first respondent would submit that against the claim of Rs.8 lakhs made by the petitioner towards interest payable to him for the delayed payment of retirement benefits, the first respondent has paid Rs.2,52,425/- as directed by the second respondent, treating that the petitioner is entitled for the said amount. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioner accepted the payment of Rs.2,52,425/-, but he is disputed that that is the only amount for which, he is entitled to claim the differential amount. He sought liberty to avail appropriate remedy in accordance with law. 5.The learned counsel for the second respondent submitted that issued necessary instructions to the first respondent to comply the Court orders for payment of eligible amount to the petitioner.

6.Considering the submissions of the respective counsel and considering the claim of the petitioner, as already Rs.2,52,425/- is paid to the petitioner, in our considered view, no further adjudication is required in the present case. 7.Accordingly, this Contempt petition is closed.
