ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation dated 18.06.2021 seeking initiation of appropriate action on the third respondent on merits and as per law within a time to be stipulated by this court.
2. The petitioner is the elected Ward representative of
Ward No.10, Sikadasampalayam Village, Karamadai Panchayat Union, Mettupalayam. As per the Rules and Regulations of Election, the elected Ward representatives have to select and elect the President and Vice President. The third respondent had purchased the votes illegally from the elected Ward Members and the videography for such canvass has been recorded. That apart, he has misappropriated amounts allotted to various welfare and development activities. Hence, the petitioner has made a complaint before the first respondent making various allegations on 18.06.2021. But, no decision has been taken till today. Hence, this writ petition.
3. Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Standing Counsel to the Government takes notice for the respondents R1 and R2.
4. By consent of counsel to both the parties, this court takes this matter for final disposal.
5. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Government submitted that the representation of the petitioner will be considered by the authority concerned in accordance with law.
6. Inview of the above submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the Board, without expressing any opinion on merits, this court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.06.2021 in accordance with law, as early as possible, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing opportunities to the petitioner as well as the third respondent.
7. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
