O R D E R
The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay interest at 10% for the belated payment of Gratuity and commutation of pension amount to the petitioner.

It is the case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was appointed as Conductor in the 1st Respondent-Corporation on 10.02.1995 and he was served in the 1st Respondent-Corporation for 24 years of unblemished service. On attaining the age of superannuation, he retired from service as Senior Conductor on 31.05.2019. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though he retired from service during 2019, his terminal benefits were paid only from January-2021, after lapse of 20 months. However, no interest was paid for the above period. In view of the same, the 2/6
petitioner submitted a representation dated 19.03.2025 to the respondents to pay interest for the delayed period. Since the same was not considered by the respondents, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents 1 and 2 would fairly admits that in view of the similar orders passed by this Court in W.P.Nos. 40031, 33742 and 35806 of 2024, they are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount.
4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum, from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 3/6
6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 04.06.2025 dm Index : Yes/No Speaking order /Non Speaking Order 4/6
