This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to register a case on the Complaint given by the petitioner dated 15.06.2015 and to file a final report within a stipulated period.

2. The petitioner herein lodged a complaint as against one V.Ramesh, for the allegation of land grabbing. Though the said complaint was given as early as on 15.06.2015, till date no action was taken by the 2nd respondent police. Hence, the present petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the land said to have been grabbed by the said Ramesh, comes within the jurisdiction of Chennai City Limit. Therefore, if the petitioner gives a complaint before the Land Grabbing Cell, Chennai, necessary action will be taken.

5. In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court directs the petitioner to give a complaint before the Inspector of Police, Land Grabbing Cell, Chennai, and on receipt of the same, the Inspector of Police, Land Grabbing Cell, Chennai, is directed to conduct an enquiry on the complaint given by the petitioner and if the materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, the respondent police is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.

6. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
