This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register a case on the Complaint given by the petitioner dated 21.06.2015 and to file a final report within a stipulated period.

2. The petitioner herein lodged a complaint as against one Rangan, residing at No.98, Amman Koil Street, Sathya Nagar, Ambattur, Chennai, stating that the said Rangan was conducting an unregistered chit fund and after collecting the amount of Rs.2 crores , he misappropriate the said amount. Hence, a complaint was lodged with the respondent police and since no action was taken, the present petition has been filed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on receipt of the complaint, C.S.R.No.435 of 2015 was assigned and the enquiry is pending.

5. In view of the submission made on either side, this Court directs the respondent police to conduct an enquiry on the complaint given by the petitioner and if the materials gathered indicates commission of any cognizable offence, the respondent police is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.

6. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
